Flam first got into music through his father, who was a professional drummer in a traditional finnish band called Hariolax. Through his father, he got interested of playing drums, which he started at the very early age of seven in a local drum-academy. After two
degrees in the drum-academy, Flam started to play in different bands at the age of fifteen.
The biggest influence of wanting to play hiphop was The Roots live-concert in 1998. That changed the young man´s perspective for good. After that, Flam wanted to go deeper in music and start producing hiphop as well.
Flam got into producing through his high-school friend Staffro, who engouraged him to start doing beats. That was around 2001. Flam learned from the best, because Staffro was allready an established producer.
In the year 2002 Staffro and Flam met a young aspiring producer Jake The Break and saw his potential. They asked him
to join in a production crew with them, which was later named Recluse Crew. |
As the Recluse Crew, they released a collaboration album in 2006 with mc-group Synoptic Pressure ( USA ) called The Art Of Raw Sound. That album was released worldwide through Kool Kat Records ( Finland ) and Timewarp distribution ( The UK ). The reception has been really good and for example in Japan, the album has been very succesful, topping at number one in Diskunion´s ( Japanese distributor ) online hiphop-chart in January 2006.
After the Art Of Raw Sound-project, Staffro made a Kollabo Brothers-album with dj-producer Kool Ski. Flam co-produced one track on that album called “ Watch The Game “ with Staffro and Jake The Break.
In the future, Flam is about to produce tracks for his native country emcees and has a few surprise moves in his sleeves considering the foreign countries. He also has a few collaboration-projects as a drummer and continues his radio-show called Recluse Radio. Be on a look out for Recluse Crew and Recluse Recordings to make big things in the future!!!!!! |
